Digital Book Distribution Grant

Support for authors and institutions to prepare academic books for digital distribution through legitimate channels and institutional repositories.

This is a planned grant concept and is not yet open. Eligibility criteria, value and deadlines will be published when the Foundation opens the call.

Overview

Academic books often reach very few readers because they are not available digitally. This grant concept supports the preparation of academic books for digital distribution — formatting, metadata, ISBN guidance and rights review — through legitimate channels such as online book retailers, digital book platforms and institutional repositories.

Reference to any distribution channel describes where books may be distributed; it does not imply a partnership with that channel.

Who can apply

Intended for: Faculty & lecturers, Researchers, Universities.

Detailed eligibility criteria will be published when this call opens.

How applications are assessed

Selection criteria will be published with the call.

Applications are screened for eligibility and completeness, reviewed and scored by qualified reviewers who have declared any conflicts of interest, and decided by an authorised committee. Automated tools may help check completeness, but funding decisions are always made by people. Read the grant guidelines.
